It’s no secret or surprise that Tulum is a celebrated haven and retreat to so many loyal travelers.

One of the first unexpected delights presented itself on the team’s first night… a surprise dinner experience (to call it a “dinner” alone simply doesn’t do it justice) at Kuu, the speakeasy style omakase restaurant tucked beautifully on property at Nômade, just behind the common Macondo where the dancing and sense of true community among guests is centered. Kristiana, a long-time sake aficionado, was blown away by the sake options as well as the incredible 12-course omakase meal.
Leaving the experience at Kuu, the team takes less than 30 steps through lush pathways to the hotel’s staple, eclectic music party, at Macondo. With incredible music, cocktails and an unmatched friends-not-strangers vibe, it makes for the perfect, quintessential ending to a first perfect day in Tulum. Indicative of most of the intimate and serene properties, the Macondo is also just mere steps from the property’s highly celebrated Gratitude Tent, where the team enjoyed the most immersive and sound healing experience they’ve ever had. A true must if one is wishing to have a complete experience of all things that embody Tulum.

Annie’s delight factor came from the famed Tulum atmosphere, style, but mostly the incredible design embodied by the properties of BE Tulum and Nômade. She shares that you truly forget these sister properties are “hotels,” as the owner behind them has well achieved his vision of creating a natural feeling of visiting a friend’s jungle retreat.
The accommodation are arranged in such a purposeful way to feel more of a stay in a beloved friend’s guest room, perfectly decorated to reflect the lush surroundings.
While the property, mostly floored outdoor with bright white soft sand, welcomes guests to comfortably walk barefoot around the properties and venues (which just about everyone does)… including even to the incredible culinary experience that concluded the Embarker’s trip, with a picture-perfect setting and incredible culinary dinner experience, all on the most beautiful landscape beachfront setting for dinner.
As host to the Embark team, celebrated and beloved hotelier Tulio Baruch is — as always — a welcoming friend who ensured every moment of the EMBARK’s team experience was seamless, and incredibly relaxing and true to Tulum and understanding what makes it such a highly repeated destination.
Tulio’s joining of the BE Tulum and Nômade bring in a true travel advisor trusted ally, much needed in Tulum which can often be such a juggernaut and unsupportive destination to the luxury travel advisory community.
