Monterrey has never shone brighter. Six of the most dazzling names in luxury travel arrived in sparkling suits, channeling pure 70’s glam and stealing every glance in the room. Star-struck, we sat down with these taste creators, storytellers, and dream-makers to talk with them and reminisce. We know they’re the kind of visionaries who know exactly how to turn a journey into a legend. And we got to chat about what inspires their work, their passion for luxury travel, and one of our all-time favorite places: Etéreo, Auberge Resorts Collection.

Spending an afternoon with Lucía Rodríguez Bortoni, Director of Viajes Le Grand, feels like hanging out with Possibility incarnate. “In Monterrey, there’s no such thing as no se puede. We’re hardworking, we’re dreamers, and that’s the spirit behind everything I do.”

We’re like school girls catching up but when the talk turns to Etéreo, her voice softens just slightly: “It’s one of those places that stays with you,” she says, as we nod enthusiastically.  Being with Lucía is like that—the possibility of what can be strengthened by the inspiration of what has been.

Analucia Torres, founder and director of Mundana Travel, has always had a flair for dreaming big. Born and raised in Monterrey, she calls herself a proud Regiomontana: “People here are everything except lazy!” she laughs.

As we moved on to discuss our favorite escapes, her eyes sparkled and Etéreo came up almost instantly. It’s the kind of place that captures everything she loves about travel: beauty, warmth, and a touch of magic that never fades.

As we talked about our favorite “lingering moments” at Etéreo, it felt a bit like traveling through time back to the memories we most like to replay: for some of us, it was sinking into a shaded cabana on the sand, the sea stretching endlessly ahead like a private stage.

For others, it was gathering barefoot around the fire pit at sunset, the sky painted in soft pastels as stories and laughter flowed as easily as the ocean breeze.

And then there was Regina Pérez Maldonado, Sales Director at Pérez Maldonado Agencia de Viajes, who arrived in a gold pantsuit and blazer over a black mesh top so jaw-dropping we had to remind ourselves not to stare (and failed, repeatedly). The look was pure power and polish, perfectly matched to someone representing the third generation of a 57-year-old family legacy in luxury travel.

When our conversation turned to Etéreo, Regina had much to say. What stood out most to her was the way water weaves itself into every experience there—whether it’s the rhythm of the waves on the beach, a languid afternoon by the pool, the restorative rituals of the spa, or you’re just having a meal. “Water is always near,” she said, and we couldn’t help but agree. It creates a kind of fluidity that carries you through your stay, a sense that everything is connected and moving with ease. Just like Regina herself, Etéreo embodies both elegance and flow.

The first thing we have to say about Alejandra Garza Zambrano, Luxury Travel Designer and Elite Sales council member? That silver jumpsuit. She absolutely shimmered, and we were instantly star-struck. Over a decade in luxury travel has given her endless stories, but in person she’s all warmth and sparkle.

As a Luxury Travel Designer at NUBA Mexico and Elite Sales Council member, she carries herself with the confidence of someone who knows exactly how to turn a trip into something exceptional. Having backdrops like Etéreo, we agree, is a key element of these unforgettable experiences.

We talked about how it was impossible to have a moment that didn’t feel like it was out of a dream. Dinner with great company and the kind of scenery that makes you take a deep breath in, just so you can take it all in. No matter whether the sun or moon was out, what color the sky was, it was always a natural masterpiece. Oh, to be back at that table, dining with friends under a starry sky, surrounded by its reflection in the water around you. What else could you ask for?

We loved connecting with Mariana González Niembro, Manager and Travel Designer of Viajes Terranova’s Monterrey headquarters. She was looking stunning in a dark shimmering gold skirt paired with a sleek black top, radiating effortless chic.

We were even more impressed to learn she comes from a 45-year family legacy of curating extraordinary journeys. A legacy that has taken her to places like Etéreo. “The celebrations there are truly special, I consider myself lucky to have been able to experience the moments that I have at Etéreo”.

And then of course there is Manon Therond, Luxury Travel Designer at Ferrara Viajes! Manon is looking like a diamond with a glimmering silver top and elegant black skirt. Of course every jewel shines brighter under polishing, and Manon’s life story has done just that, polished her into the travel virtuoso she is today.

When talking about the parts of Mexico that had made this Frenchwoman want to move here, the conversation turns to food, and of course the food at Etéreo. “There is seafood, and then there is seafood” Manon makes a gesture with her hand to truly highlight the difference of what she means, and having had the octopus at Etéreo, we understand exactly what that difference means.

What a day it was, filled with glittering outfits, stories that spanned generations, and a phenomenal crew full of luster and sheen, inside and out. Each of these powerhouse women brought a different lens, a different sparkle, to the conversation. Speaking of powerhouse women, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Laura Villalobos, the new general manager who’s taking the property to new heights. We couldn’t be more excited!

Etéreo is the perfect theme for these conversations because it embodies everything they spoke of: beauty, fluidity, and the kind of experiences that inhabit your mind long after the suitcases are unpacked. It just goes to show you how there are some places that you might leave, but they never truly leave you. Etéreo, Auberge Resorts Collection, we hope never leaves us.
