When we first arrive at Impression Moxché by Secrets, we pause to take it all in. Stepping into the entrance, aptly named the Impression Lounge because it certainly leaves one, is both inviting and soothing, a continuation of the wild nature surrounding it.

This elegant space, with its Lobby Bar and gourmet grab-and-go bites (think Iberian ham, petit fours, and artisanal pastries), feels like a warm embrace. The architecture itself seems to whisper, “Welcome, stay awhile.” It’s no secret that guests staying at Impression Moxché by Secrets enjoy special benefits, including access to the facilities at their sister property, Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen—even those exclusive to Preferred Club guests. With a total of eight pools, ten incredible restaurants, and a man-made lagoon inspired by the region’s stunning beaches, that’s exactly what you’ll want to do.

First stop: the Seaside Beach Club, where an infinity pool and Bali beds beckon. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, this spot is the epitome of laid-back luxury. We could have spent hours here, sipping margaritas and soaking in the views. But with eleven more pools to explore (yes, twelve in total!), we had to keep moving.

At Impression Moxché by Secrets, the restaurants are a culinary tour de force, each offering a unique culinary journey. It’s impossible to pick a favorite! To avoid torture, the clear solution is to try them all.

We first made our way to Cielo, the resort’s stunning rooftop terrace. With two pools (including another infinity pool), Bali beds, and a California-style culinary experience, it’s the kind of place where time stands still.

The vibe is artisan beach chic, and the food? Let’s just say we’re still dreaming about it. The California-inspired dishes are light yet indulgent, with a focus on clean flavors and locally sourced ingredients. The combination of the food, the views, and the ambiance made it impossible to leave—but with so much more to explore, we knew we just had to.

Just steps from the sand, the Seaside Restaurant & Beach Club offers a Latin American gourmet experience that’s as vibrant as the setting. The indoor space is sleek and relaxed, with a menu that celebrates the region’s rich culinary heritage, like king crab drizzled with garlic butter, succulent lobster tail, and giant shrimp grilled to perfection. Each dish is a celebration of flavor.

Teodoro is the resort’s crown jewel. This signature restaurant offers a 7-course chef’s tasting experience, crafted by the team of culinary maestros at Impression Moxché by Secrets.

The menu is a fusion of Mexican tradition and modern innovation, featuring dishes like the Tamal de Lluvia (a tamale inspired by the rainy season, filled with morel mushrooms, black truffle, escamoles, and huitlacoche) and the Callo Margarita (oysters with habanero gel, almond milk, Yucatecan lime, and caviar). Each plate is a work of art, as visually stunning as it is delicious.

Behind every unforgettable meal is a team of culinary masters. Leading the charge is Orlando Trejo, the resort’s executive chef. With over 18 years of experience, Orlando has spent his career dreaming up and creating exceptional dining experiences at resorts and amusement parks. He’s brought his passion, artistry, and genius to the table at Impression Moxché by Secrets since joining in 2023.

Working alongside Orlando is Alexis Valera, Master Chef at Impression Moxché by Secrets, a chef with a global perspective. After forming part of the opening team of a Mexican restaurant in the Middle East and earning a spot among the top 10 in the San Pellegrino Young Chef competition, Alexis brings a wealth of creativity and expertise to the kitchen. His dishes are a testament to his dedication to both culture and flavor.

Rounding out the team is Aidé Cabrera, a rising star in the culinary world. As sous chef of Teodoro, Aidé brings over five years of experience and a fresh, dynamic energy to the resort’s restaurants. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence make her a young talent with a promising future.
Together, this trio ensures that guests’ meals don’t stop at being a feast to the senses, though they very well could – instead, they turn each bite into a story to later tell, or a memory to fondly remember.

After our multi-sensorial spiritual gastronomical journey, we tour the Master Suite Swimout, a blissful sanctuary. Elegantly designed with a dining room, a spacious living area, and a terrace featuring a private pool, this suite is the epitome of perfection. We’ve visited suites of all kinds and still couldn’t help but feel giddy at the delicious leisure of it all.

The seamless indoor-outdoor flow invites you to relax and unwind, whether you’re enjoying a meal al fresco or taking a refreshing dip in your very own pool. With exclusive Butler service catering to your every need, the Master Suite Swimout is designed to make you feel like royalty, and boy, did we! It’s the perfect retreat for those who crave both privacy and indulgence.

And the wines, oh the wines! For wine lovers, the resort’s Wine Boutique on the Secrets Moxché side is a must-visit. Offering vertical tastings, regional selections, and curated experiences by grape variety, it’s a journey through the world’s finest vineyards. Of course it isn’t just the wines, but the architectural flow and design that makes the experience absolutely exquisite. Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier or a casual enthusiast, the boutique’s knowledgeable staff will guide you to the perfect bottle or two. We may or may not have left with a few souvenirs.

From the sun-drenched pools to the rooftop vistas at Cielo, and the artistry of Teodoro to the coastal charm of the Seaside Restaurant & Beach Club, this resort is the ideal recipe for pleasure. We left with full hearts (and stomachs), already dreaming of our next visit. After all, there are still sunsets to savor, dishes to devour, and pools to lounge in. Until next time!
