As the Director of Luxury Sales at the brand-new SLS Playa Mujeres, Cynthia Sosa is the face, heart, and soul of this glamorous all-inclusive resort. She welcomes us into her stomping grounds and we immediately start talking about her years of experience in luxury sales and her impressive background in consortia contracting, business development, and high-end leisure travel.
We can’t wait to hit the beach! There’s nothing quite like Playa Mujeres, and Cynthia would know. Originally from Mexico City, Cynthia made the leap to Cancún in 2012 to follow her dream of living by the ocean. She’s a lover of travel, art, dance, and her Great Dane, Roberta, who might just be the most spoiled pup in the Riviera Maya. Dressed in a shimmering green halter dress that gives off serious Mount Olympus vibes, Cynthia embodies the luxury lifestyle she curates so well.
Speaking of Goddesses, coming in cool and glamorous in 50 shades of turquoise is Janel Carnero, the mastermind behind many unforgettable and emotionally charged getaways from Embark Beyond. With the scenery behind her and the light playing with her beautiful features, she is a sight to behold.
As we step inside, we settle in to chat. Janel confides how she loves to plan everything from an fun-filled adventure, a high-stakes incentive trip, to a luxury retreat designed to inspire.

It’s another beautiful day in Playa Mujeres and we couldn’t possibly stay inside so we head back to the beach. As a gorgeous follow up to his outfit from this afternoon he has a matching bathing suit: a true style maven. We discuss him being awarded “30 Under 30” by Luxury Travel Advisor and a Gold Magellan for his groundbreaking internship program. Now, he’s taking things up a notch with his latest venture, Rivers to Peaks, an adventure-based travel agency under the Prescription Travel umbrella. Ummm… yes, please!
We met Analucia Torres by the pool, where she looked like the actual mother of pearl in a classic off-white one-piece bathing suit and flowing tunic. Founder and CEO of Mundana Travel, she exudes effortless elegance, but her real strength lies in her vision for redefining luxury travel. With over 35 travel advisors forming part of her team and a goal of expanding Mundana’s presence across major cities in Mexico, she’s leading the charge in a rapidly growing industry.
